Abstract

The invention relates to the field of traditional Chinese medicine, in particular to compound herba houttuyniae syrup, pharmaceutical application thereof in treatment of encephalomyelitis and a detection method. The compound herba houttuyniae syrup is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 100 parts of herba houttuyniae, 25 parts of radix scutellariae, 25 parts of radix isatidis, 10 parts of fructus forsythiae and 10 parts of lonicera japonica. A preparation method of the syrup comprises the following steps: preparing herba houttuyniae, radix scutellariae, radix isatidis, fructus forsythiae and lonicera japonica, adding water in an amount which is 7 times that of the raw materials for decocting twice for 2 hours, combining decoction solutions, filtering, concentrating filtrate into clear paste, adding ethanol till the alcohol content is up to 70 percent, stirring uniformly, standing, filtering, recovering ethanol from the filtrate under reduced pressure, and concentrating to obtain concentrated liquid medicine; preparing sucrose into simple syrup, adding the concentrated liquid medicine, adding water, stirring uniformly, filtering, and filling to obtain the compound herba houttuyniae syrup. The compound herba houttuyniae syrup can be used for treating encephalomyelitis and herpes simplex virus encephalitis. The invention further provides a method for measuring content of the compound herba houttuyniae syrup through high performance liquid chromatography and a gas chromatographic method.
