Abstract

The invention discloses a method used for sending data, an apparatus and a system thereof. When first IPv6 address information sent by an DNS server is received, IPv4 address information is extracted from the first IPv6 address information. A prefix query request is sent to a prefix discovery server PDS, wherein the prefix query request comprises the IPv4 address information and NAT64 node prefix information used for conveniently inquiring an IPv4 address information ownership network segment. When the NAT64 node prefix information sent by the PDS is received, the NAT64 node prefix information and the IPv4 address information are used to generate second IPv6 address information. An IPv6 data packet is sent to an NAT64 node related to the second IPv6 address information so that the NAT64 node translates the IPv6 data packet into an IPv4 data packet and forwards the IPv4 data packet to an assigned IPv4 server. According to different IP address network segments, corresponding prefix information is configured so that an XLAT function can be extended and usage under a multiple-gateway scene is realized.
