The preparation method comprises the steps: (1) mixing, calcining and crushing attapulgite and blast furnace slag powder so as to prepare mixed powder M1; (2) mixing chitosan, acrylamide, dialkyl diallyl ammonium bromide, epoxy chloropropane, triethylamine, trimethyl ethyl isopropenyl ammonium chloride, acrylic acid and an initiator in an acidic solution so as to obtain a mixed solution M2; (3) carrying out polymerization reaction on the mixed solution M2 under the protection of inert gas so as to prepare a mixed solution M3; (4) mixing the mixed powder M1 and the mixed solution M3 so as to prepare a mixture M4; and (5) freezing, drying and granulating the mixture M4, thereby preparing the wastewater flocculant. The wastewater flocculant prepared by the method is excellent in flocculation effect and light in pollution.
