Abstract

The present invention provides a server system capable of monitoring power consumption of a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIE) device with high precision, relates to the fields of cloud computing and data centers. Supply voltages of PCIE slots comprise 12V and 3.3V. 12V supply currents and 3.3V supply currents flowing through all PCIE slots of the system are sensed by using precision resistors. Then, a power consumption monitoring device Power Monitor converts sensed currents and voltages into power consumption values. Finally, power consumption data is output to a baseboard management controller (BMC) of the system through an I2C bus. Then, the BMC adds the power consumption data of power supply links of 12V and 3.3V, and displays obtained total PCIE device power consumption on a Web management system interface. The real-time power consumption of all PCIE devices of the system under different pressure provides an accurate and intuitive data basis for the server operation and maintenance personnel to manually adjust the rotation speed of fans.
