The method comprises the following steps: adding reference oil into a prepared to-be-measured ternary compound system, measuring various parameters of interfacial tension by utilizing an interfacial tension meter so as to calculate an interfacial tension value, drawing a curve of the interfacial tension value along with time change, and finding the lowest interfacial tension value sigma<min> in the curve and the corresponding ultra-low interfacial tension action time delta t so as to obtain an incidence relation among the interfacial tension performance parameters, the lowest interfacial tension value and the ultra-low interfacial tension action time, wherein the incidence relation is used for analyzing the interfacial tension performance of the ternary compound system; and obtaining the oil displacement efficiency through the interfacial tension performance indexes, and determining the ternary compound system. According to the method, the interfacial tension performance of the ternary compound system is comprehensively analyzed in a quantitative mode, guidance is quantitatively provided for determination of the ternary compound system, and the method is simple in process, objective and scientific in result and high in repeatability.
