Abstract

The invention discloses a method of updating software on a mobile terminal, a mobile terminal and a server. The method comprises the following steps: when knowing that a mobile terminal is to update software, a server checks a current server load; if the current load is determined to be heavy, the server notifies the mobile terminal of not updating sessions at present and indicates when the mobile terminal can update; the mobile terminal, based on the received time that can be updated, sets a timer; and if the timer exceeds the time, updating procedures are started again. Through interaction between a mobile terminal and a server, the time of making an updating request by the mobile terminal is adjusted and scheduled based on load conditions of the server, therefore, the method of the invention enables an updating request from a mobile terminal user to be order and reasonable so as to improve a usage feeling of the user compared with the prior art.
