Abstract

The invention relates to an alloy material and a method for manufacturing a forklift beam by use of the same. The alloy material comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 0.16-0.25% of carbon, 0.8-1.4% of manganese, 0.3-0.6% of silicon, 0.2-0.8% of chromium and the balance of iron. The manufacturing method adopts investment casting, wherein a wax pattern of the investment comprises the following components in parts by weight: 50-70 parts of paraffin, 15-40 parts of polymerized rosin, 5-15 parts of EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) and 5-10 parts of lignite wax. The yield strength of a forklift beam manufactured from the alloy material provided by the invention is greater than 620MPa, the tensile strength is over 750MPa, the material elongation reaches 20%, and the hardness exceeds 200HBW; and moreover, the internal texture of the material reaches the first level, and the material has good manufacturability and can completely replace the existing materials such as Q235A steel and the like.
