Abstract

The invention provides an atmosphere interface ion source and a mass spectrometer. The atmosphere interface ion source comprises a capillary tube and a repulsion electrode, wherein one end of the capillary tube stretches into the mass spectrometer and the other end of the capillary tube is arranged in atmosphere; a sample ion flow is formed by sample ions by an air pressure difference between the inside of the mass spectrometer and the atmosphere and is sucked into the mass spectrometer through the capillary tube; an included angle alpha between the capillary tube and a mass analyzer of the mass spectrometer is 80-150 degrees; and the repulsion electrode is mounted at the outer side of the included angle alpha; direct-current voltage of 110-380 volts is applied to the repulsion electrode so that the flying direction of the sample ions with low kinetic energy in the sample ion flow passing through the capillary tube is changed for 180 degrees-alpha and the sample ions enter the mass analyzer. The mass spectrometer disclosed by the invention comprises the atmosphere interface ion source disclosed by the invention. According to the atmosphere interface ion source and the mass spectrometer, only the stable sample ions with the low kinetic energy can enter the mass analyzer and fog drop residues with the great kinetic energy and the like can be effectively separated. Therefore, the atmosphere interface ion source and the mass spectrometer has the advantages of high analysis precision, high sensitivity and high signal to noise ratio.
