Abstract

The invention discloses a cutting propagation method of ricinus communis, which belongs to the technical field of crop propagation. The method comprises the following steps of: cutting ricinus communis branches of 1-2 years old, retaining one leaf with the leaf area being 20%-25% of the original leaf area on each branch, dipping the cut branches with rooting powder and then inserting into a seedling bed, keeping the air humidity to be 100% in a cutting seedling greenhouse during the period from cutting to rooting. The method provided by the invention overcomes difficulties of the ricinus communis such as large areas, fast moisture evaporation, hollow stems, high lignification extent and difficult rooting; the inarched ricinus communis branches are capable of successfully rooting within a short time of 40 days more or less; the rooting rate is 53%-86.7%, and speediness, orderliness, strong growth vigour and good growth can realized in rootage; the propagation time is short, the operation is concise and easy to master. The invention provides a novel method for protecting the ricinus communis resource, which is capable of keeping excellent individual plants of the ricinus communis and shortening the propagation time. The application of the method provided by the invention in the propagation of female individual plants of the ricinus communis is particularly significant in heterosis utilization.
