The invention discloses a construction method of passage of a large-section tunnel by water diversion fault. The construction method includes: firstly, exploring the fault to provide material basis for next tunnel design; secondly, laying out the tunnel design according to exploration conditions; thirdly, grouting and ponding before the tunnel passes the fault; and fourthly, supporting the surrounding rock when the tunnel passes the fault. The construction method is a complete technique integrating exploring, dredging, gushing prevention, and floor-ceiling reinforcement and allowing for passage of the large-section tunnel by the water diversion fault. Supporting measures are taken in response to different conditions, and safety of the tunnel in long-term use is guaranteed.
