Problems solved by technology

However, since core chips such as media processor 11 are generally more expensive, this method of sharing media objects 13 by adding core chips will not only increase the complexity of the communication system, but also increase the system cost a lot
[0008] The third method is to add a three-state driver chip to the IO port of each media object 13. Similarly, although this method enhances the driving capability of the media object 13 to a certain extent, the number of media objects 13 is increased. However, this method needs to control the driver chip, which is sometimes cumbersome and even difficult to implement. At the same time, due to the addition of an additional driver chip, when the number of IO ports is large, the cost rises significantly

Embodiment Construction

[0016] The present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0017] The TDM bus extension method of the present invention comprises the steps of: dividing the TDM bus (TDM_BUS) into m+1 group sub-buses, wherein: a group of sub-buses 230 (TDM_BUS0) is connected with a media processor 210, and the TDM interface of the media processor 210 The sub-bus 230 is connected to the corresponding IO terminal on the programmable device 220; the remaining m groups of sub-buses 231, 232, ..., 23m (TDM_BUS1 to TDM_BUSm) are respectively connected with a corresponding number of media objects 240, each media object The TDM interfaces of 240 are respectively connected to the corresponding IO terminals on the programmable device 220 via the sub-buses to which they are attached.

[0018] In the present invention, the media object 240 itself has a TDM interface, and the media processor 210 itself also has a TDM interface. Of course, it is also all...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for expanding a time division multiplexing (TDM) bus, which comprises the following steps that: the TDM bus is divided into m plus 1 groups of sub buses, wherein a media processor is hooked with one group of sub bus, and a TDM interface of the media processor is connected with a corresponding input / output (IO) port on a programmable device through the sub bus; and the corresponding numbers of media processors are respectively hooked onto the residual m groups of sub buses, and the TDM interfaces of all the media objects are respectively connected with the corresponding IO ports on the programmable device through the sub buses which are hooked with the media objects. The number of the media objects which are hooked with a communication system which is constructed by the method is not limited, the practicability is strong, and the working speed of the communication system cannot be reduced due to the reconstruction of the buses. The method is easy to realize, is low in cost, can simply program the programmable device, and is particularly suitable for high-capacity backplane switching systems.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a TDM bus extension method, which belongs to the field of communication. Background technique [0002] TDM bus (TDM_BUS) is a serial bus standard widely used in various communication systems, and it uses the principle of time division multiplexing (TDM) to transmit multiple serial voice signals on it. For example, in switching equipment, the TDM bus is used to transmit clock, frame synchronization, receive data and send data four signals. [0003] Such as figure 1 , a typical communication system generally includes several media objects 13, these media objects 13 themselves have TDM interfaces and are directly connected to the TDM bus 12 (TDM_BUS), these media objects 13 and the media processor 11 are connected through the TDM bus 12 Transmitting and exchanging information. The media object 13 can be a media chip, a media module or a media circuit board with a TDM interface. For example, industry-specific ASIC voice process...
