The electric vehicle comprises a motor for driving wheels to rotate, a motor driver, an acceleration controller, a battery for supplying power and a feedback control unit, wherein the feedback control unit is used for controlling the motor to output a negative torque through the motor driver when the motor is in a working state and the acceleration control device is in a loosening device; and the battery is charged by the output of the motor through the motor driver. The invention also provides a corresponding kinetic energy recovery method and the electric vehicle. According to the invention, the motor is controlled to output the negative torque through the motor driver when the acceleration control device is loosened, so as to provide a deceleration braking torque for the whole vehicle; meanwhile, the driving motor is dragged, by means of the inertia of the whole vehicle, to generate power, and therefore the electric vehicle is more energy-saving and environment-friendly in the using process.
