Problems solved by technology

[0003] This invention aims at the problems existing in the artificial detasseling pollination method, and uses chemical andricides to induce cotton stamen sterility (hereinafter referred to as "chemical detasseling") to achieve the purpose of detasseling, which can avoid manual detasseling in the production process of hybrid cotton seeds. The male link can be completely killed, and the quality of the produced seeds meets the Ministry of Agriculture's "Hybrid Cotton Seed Quality Standard", which is of positive significance for reducing seed production costs and sales prices, and promoting the sustainable development of hybrid cotton in my country

Embodiment Construction

[0014] 1. Chemical andricides: The chemical andricides used in the present invention are once tested on various crops such as cotton, rice, wheat and vegetables, and there are 16 kinds in total. Including: (1) dichloroacetic acid, (2) dichloropropionic acid, (3) trichloropropionic acid, (4) sodium dichloroisobutyrate, (5) triiodobenzoic acid, (6) dichloroethyl Phosphoric acid, (7) hydrazine maleate, (8) dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, (9) sodium nucleic acid, (10) dichloroethyl trimethyl potassium chloride, (11) sulfamic acid, ( 12) p-aniline sulfonic acid, (13) diphenylamine sulfonic acid, (14) dichloropropionic acid, (15) jinaoline and (16) phenyridazine propyl ester.

[0015] 2. Screening method: Spray the above-mentioned 16 kinds of chemical andricides on the cotton varieties according to the concentration gradient of 0.1%~1.0% (the gradient interval is 0.1 percentage points). Determine the chemical andricide and its corresponding cotton variety (line) according to the maleci...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing hybrid cotton seeds by inducing the male sterility of cotton with a chemical male gametocide, comprising the following steps of: (1) screening the chemical male gametocide, which has a thorough castration performance and a stable effect, and cotton varieties or strains which correspond to the chemical male gametocide; (2) backcrossing for 4-6 generations by using varieties with genes to be transformed and the screened cotton varieties, spraying each backcrossed generation by using the screened chemical male gametocide, and selecting plants, which are subjected to thorough castration and free from influences harmful to the growth and the development of cotton plants, from a colony to establish a plant line till the plant line in accordance with a transformed object is selected, wherein the selected plant line is used for producing the hybrid cotton seeds after being propagated. The method provided by the invention has a good castration effect and is beneficial to cost and labor saving; the chemical male gametocide has thorough and stable effect; and the production cost of the hybrid cotton seeds is reduced by about 30 percent compared with that of artificial castration and pollination.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to a method for producing cotton seeds, and is applicable to cotton production to utilize interspecies hybrids (F 1 Generation) advantage for the purpose of hybrid cotton seed production. Background technique [0002] There are four cultivated species of upland cotton, sea island cotton, Asian cotton and grass cotton in the cotton genus. At present, the cotton species used in my country's cotton production, except for sea-island cotton in southern Xinjiang, are all upland cotton. In the past ten years, my country's cotton production has mainly utilized interspecies hybrids of upland cotton (F 1 The area of hybrid cotton for the purpose of taking advantage of generation) has expanded rapidly, accounting for 10.9% of the national cotton field area in 1999, and increased to 45% in 2008. Especially in the cotton area of the Yangtze River Basin where seedling cultivation and transplanting are the main planting methods, the area o...
