Abstract

The invention relates to a non-contact type mouse device and an operation method thereof. The device contains a drive unit of an image sensor, a moving image identification unit and a mouse drive unit, wherein the drive unit of the image sensor is electrically connected to the image sensor; the moving image identification unit is electrically connected to the drive unit of the image sensor; and the mouse drive unit is electrically connected to the moving image identification unit. The method comprises the following steps of: retrieving an original image by utilizing an image sensor and regulating the original image to obtain a regulated image; detecting a moving image in the regulated image; defining a mouse area for the moving image; defining at least one movement speed area for the mouse area; finding out one tip position of the moving image; and finally, executing the action of the movement speed area in which the tip position is positioned. The invention can be finished by utilizing a network camera and a personal computer. A virtual mouse is operated by gestures so as to move a cursor on a display of the computer. Moreover, the invention can move at variable speed and can freely determine the movement speed of the cursor by a user according to the positions of the gestures.
