Abstract

The invention discloses a method, device and Radius server used for detecting client connection status, wherein the method comprises the following steps: after losing client TCP connection, if the Radius server can not establish connection with the client again within a first set time, the Radius server sends SNMP message to an access switch; the access switch searches whether a user on the client is on line according to the SNMP message, using the search result as the response of the SNMP message; and if the search result shows that the user on the client is not on line, the on-line user record corresponding to the client is deleted from the on-line user list. By using the method, device and Radius server of the invention, the on-line user information of the Radius server and the access switch are the same so as to ensure that the on-line user information seen by the administrator is the latest.
