Abstract

The invention provides a high speed full optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system and a modulation / demodulation method thereof. In the method, a laser generates an ultrashort pulse signal which is then modulated according to a certain modulation code sequence; the pulse series of the modulation signal and the ultrashort pulse signal are synchronized through an electrically adjustable delay line; the modulated signal is divided into two ways of signals through a first coupler; the two ways of signals are multiplexed respectively through a first multiplexer and a second multiplexer; the multiplexed signals are integrated through a second coupler; and the integrated signals are demultiplexed through a de-multiplexer. By using the high speed signal processing technique in optical fiber, the system and the method realize the full optical domain OFDM modulation and demodulation, thus obtaining greater operation bandwidth and higher processing speed.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical fields of optoelectronics and optical fiber communication, in particular to an all-optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technology applied in a high-speed optical fiber communication system. Background technique [0002] The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology has been proposed for nearly 40 years, and it is a multiplexing method with high spectral efficiency of multiple carriers. In recent years, with the rapid development of digital signal processing (DSP) technology, OFDM, as a high-speed wireless transmission technology that can effectively combat ISI, has received extensive attention. OFDM technology has been successfully used in systems such as Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Wireless Local Loop (WLL), Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), High Definition Television (HDTV), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), etc. Eliminate the ISI phenomenon caused by signal mu...
