Abstract

The invention relates to a copper-plated graphite composite material and the preparing method thereof, in particular to a composite material with copper directly plated on the surface of the natural crystalline flake graphite by adopting a chemical method and the preparing method. The invention has the following steps: firstly, chemical materials of natural crystalline flake graphite powder with a certain granularity, copper sulfate and zinc powder are selected; secondly, the copper ions in copper sulfate are plated on the surface of the natural crystalline flake graphite through a chemical displacement reaction; and thirdly, the natural crystalline flake graphite is dehydrated after being cleaned and then is dried in a reducing furnace under the protection of hydrogen. The copper-plated graphite powder prepared in the invention is a composite material, which has excellent combined interface with copper evenly distributed on the surface of graphite and is provided with the lubricity of graphite as well as the electrical conductivity, the tractility and the high strength of copper. The invention opens up a new way of solving the prior technique of compounding copper and graphite by using asphalt or other adhesives.
