Abstract

The invention relates to a device for realizing disaster recovery for Ethernet port. The 10G Ethernet MAC chip is connected with XGMII interface through XAUI SERDES chip; the XAUI SERDES chip is connected with two 10 GE optical modules through XAUI interface to form two 10G Ethernet links of master and backup ports; the XAUI SERDES chip realizes the switching between XGMII interface and two XAUI interface signals each; the auto switching logic module monitors working states of the links; the alarm logic module sends an alarm signal to the CPU after the switching occurs between the master and backup ports. As one link fails, it can real-timely switch data flow to the other link, where the switching time is determined the hardware circuit speed, therefore it can avoid the phenomenon of large number of lost packets. Its recovery time is largely better than that of traditional Ethernet failure recovering method.
