Embodiment 1

[0087] Add the colloidal silica dispersion listed in Table 2 to the liquid detergent listed in Table 1 according to Table 3 with good agitation. The amount of detergent (to which the colloidal silica dispersion was added) was 100 g, if not stated otherwise. Stability was compared for precipitation and separation (inhomogeneous samples) at the beginning and at the end after one month of storage at 55°C. Stability was compared by optical inspection.

Embodiment 2

[0094] The performance of the silane modified sols in detergent applications has the same technical effect as can be seen from Table 4 below.

[0095] 1.5 g of the silica sol aqueous product was added to 100 g of Ajax Double Action (glass cleaner) at room temperature with good stirring. The cleaner is then used as described in the method below.

[0096] Method: Exterior windows were used in the trials. Spray the detergent (with silica sol) onto the vertical window and remove the residue with a squeegee. Let the window dry for 5 minutes. A standard dirt (Krefeld) solution (1%) was sprayed onto a portion of the cleaned window. Spray water onto the other part of the window that is being cleaned as well. Study the spreading and wetting of soils (diffusion and soil release). Hydrophilicity is indicated by wetting with sprayed water. Let the window dry for another 5 minutes. Spray water on the windows. Investigate the removal of soil. As can be clearly seen from Table 4, th...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method of preparing an aqueous detergent dispersion comprising mixing at least one silane compound, colloidal silica particles, and a detergent to form an aqueous detergent dispersion comprising silanized colloidal silica particles. The invention also relates to a dispersion obtainable by the method and to the use thereof.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a detergent composition comprising silane-modified silica particles. Background technique [0002] Detergent compositions are currently used in many cleaning applications, including the cleaning of hard and soft surfaces such as textiles, and in many other applications in domestic and industrial use. [0003] US Patent Application 2002 / 0111287A1 discloses a process for providing a detergent composition comprising hydrophilic silicate-containing particles. It has been found, however, that these types of detergent compositions are not always sufficiently stable and tend to settle over time, which is of course detrimental to the cleaning effect. [0004] It would therefore be desirable to provide a stable and preferably highly concentrated aqueous detergent dispersion useful in the above applications. It would also be desirable to provide a convenient and inexpensive method for producing such dispersions. Contents of t...
