A chewing gum base essentially free of non-silica fillers, comprising high molecular weight polyisobutylene, optionally amorphous silica and polyvinylacetate and powdered lecithin present in the chewing gum composition and optionally spray-dried flavor in the chewing gum composition.

Background of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to chewing gum bases and chewing gum compositions and methods for their production. More particularly, the present invention relates to chewing gum base compositions that produce gum bases and chewing gums with reduced adhesion to outdoor surfaces compared to typical chewing gum compositions. [0002] When chewing the gum, the insoluble portion remains. While the remaining insoluble fraction can be easily discarded without any problems, hazards can arise when incorrectly discarded. Due to their general composition, chewing gums have adhesive-like properties. Thus, the chewing gum can adhere to outdoor surfaces on which it is placed, either intentionally or unintentionally. Such surfaces may include concrete, flooring, walls, carpet, metal, wood, plastic, glass and other surfaces.
