Abstract

A method and system for rapidly processing a call when one user agent (UA) in a dormant state makes a traffic transmission request in a wireless telecommunication system including an access network (AN) for simultaneously performing group communication with at least two UAs. The UA transitions to the dormant state based on a suspended mode. A slot cycle index value is set to a first slot cycle index value for a slot mode operation in the dormant state based on the suspended mode, and the AN is notified of the first slot cycle index value. A paging message is received according to a paging time adjusted by the AN using the first slot cycle index value. The traffic channel is set up after the UA transitions to the active state when data to be transmitted is generated in the dormant state based on the suspended mode.
