Abstract

A heavy-duty truck or bus tire mounted on a 15° deep groove rim has a rounded bead, which solves installation problems and saves material. The bead toe is bounded by the bead seat and the end surface of the bead toe and forms an included angle of 105°-150°. Furthermore, a transition point between the bead seat and the toe end surface is located relative to the bead seat point at 0.95-0.97 times the axial distance from the center of the tire and at least 0.78 times the radial distance of the bead seat point. A mold for manufacturing the tire is also disclosed.
