Abstract

The method for quickly automatically determining potassium content includes the following steps: (1) placing counting probe into a series of standard samples which are identical to the tested sample in mineralization and different from one in potassium content; one-by-one measuring electric pulse produced by beta-counting tube driven by beta-radiation ray produced by potassium, and making relation curve of potassium contents of standard samples and correspondent counting values; (2) respectively placing two counting probes into tested sample and blank sample, and respectively measuring electric pulse signal of the tested sample plus natural background radiation; and (3). processing signals measured by two probes and feeding them into CPU microprocessing unit to make data processing, then using count difference of two probes to obtain potassium content of tested sample by means of the standard curve. Said invented method is simple, reliable, stable and high in measurement accuracy.
