The invention provides a method for preparing a potassium chloride fertilizer by using chlorine-containing titanium extraction slag. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out wet treatment on the chlorine-containing titanium extraction slag, and carrying out solid-liquid separation to obtain a first filter residue and a first filtrate; precipitating magnesium and aluminum ions in the first filtrate, and filtering to obtain second filtrate and second filter residues; concentrating the second filtrate to obtain a chlorine-containing concentrated solution; adding a potassium hydroxide solution into the chlorine-containing concentrated solution, wherein the addition amount of potassium carbonate is appropriate to enable calcium ions in the first filtrate to completely form calcium carbonate precipitates, and obtaining third filter residues and third filtrate through filtering; and heating the third filtrate, and evaporating to remove moisture to obtain the potassium chloride fertilizer. The method has the beneficial effects that solid waste resources are recycled, the chlorine element in the titanium extraction slag can be recycled, waste is turned into wealth, and adverse conditions are changed into favorable conditions.
