Abstract

The invention provides an underwater image enhancement method based on color correction and three-interval histogram stretching. The method comprises steps of performing color correction processing ona source image, processing the source image in an R channel, a G channel and a B channel by adopting a three-interval histogram equalization method, stretching pixel values of a single channel, performing threshold selection and separating three sub-intervals, and finishing three-interval equalization operation to obtain an enhanced image of three-interval histogram equalization; and performing linear weighted fusion on the image after subinterval linear transformation and the three-interval histogram equalization image to reconstruct a final defogged image. According to the method, a histogram equalization method based on multiple intervals is utilized to perform more accurate division on the single-channel histogram of the source image, perform histogram equalization on the single interval and perform linear fusion with the image after color correction processing so that dark details of the source image can be better displayed, noise can be reduced and image defogging can be realized.
