More specifically, various embodiments described herein relate to antimicrobial floor coatings and formulations having polymeric materials, including epoxies and acrylics, and antimicrobial copper ions. In a preferred embodiment, the polymeric material is derived from a no mix one component epoxy acrylic floor paint. These antimicrobial floor coatings have an unexpected combination indicative of high durability of the floor coating and antimicrobial efficacy that will kill >99% of human pathogens according to the modified EPA copper test protocol.
