The method is applied to the NAT equipment, and comprises the steps of obtaining an NAT keep-alive detectionperiod and an IPSec keep-alive detection period; comparing the NAT keep-alive detection period with the IPSec keep-alive detection period; and if the NAT keep-alive detection period is greater than or equal to the IPSec keep-alive detection period, stopping NAT keep-alive detection, and starting IPSec keep-alive detection.
