Abstract

The present invention relates to a medium composition for in vitro culturing Polygoni Multiflori Radix and a method for mass production of seedlings using the same. In detail, media that exhibited excellent growth rates upon in vitro culturing Polygoni Multiflori Radix were selected from among 10 different media, and the selected media, when supplemented with the plant growth regulator kinetin incombination with IAA or NAA, were found to allow tuberous roots of seedlings to differentiate well. Further, it was found that culturing in the media under the control of contents of inorganic salts therein led to the growth of plants having well-differentiated tuberous roots and that the plants were well-acclimated to soil.
