Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preying on dominant insects at an airport by adopting eremias. The method comprises the following steps: grassland with 1 mx1 m is selected, nylon mesh covers areprepared, a frame of each mesh cover is fixed by using thin insulating rods, each mesh cover has a size of 1 mx1 mx0.4 m, the bottom of each nylon mesh gauze is buried into soil for about 20 cm, the top of each mesh cover is covered by using a 40-mesh nylon mesh, the nylon mesh is fixed by using a stapler, and a small opening is reserved to facilitate throwing of food; nine nylon mesh covers are prepared, according to different species of natural enemies, two nylon mesh covers are arranged as treatment groups, one nylon mesh cover is arranged as a control group, natural enemies of the insectsare separately put into the two treatment groups, and an equal quantity of dominant insects including popillia indgigonacea of coleopteran and locusta migratoria and acrida cinerea of orthoptera at the airport are separately put into the control group and the treatment groups; and activities of the natural enemies and quantity change of the insects are observed and recorded every day. Experimentsshow that the insect natural enemies are introduced in a large area of the airport, one or several different species of natural enemies can be introduced at a time, measures such as enclosing and monitoring are implemented, so that the method disclosed by the invention has important research significance for insect prevention and control and bird control at the airport.
