Abstract

The invention discloses a method for compressing large-size image. The method comprises the following steps: dividing an image into multiple sub-regions with the same size, computing multiple countingvalues for reflecting pixel distribution condition in each sub-region, and selecting the corresponding compression and shrinking method according to the counting value distribution of the whole imageto produce a compressed image convenient for mobile phone processing and watching. The invention further discloses a device corresponding to the method. Through the method disclosed by the embodimentof the invention, the image beautifying processing efficiency on the mobile phone can be improved and the use of the storage space is reduced in the premise of preventing the user from perceiving theimage quality defect.
