Abstract

An independent storage system for spent fuel storage during nuclear power plant decommissioning comprises: an independent storage space, obtained by modifying a nuclear power plant into a separate building; a spent fuel storage tank, arranged in the separate storage space and configured to store spent fuel; a cooling system disposed in the separate storage space and configured to remove decay heatgenerated from spent fuel; a purification system disposed in the separate storage space, and configured to purify water in a spent fuel storage tank; and a cooling water supply system disposed in theseparate storage space and configured to supply cooling water to the cooling system, wherein the cooling system, the purification system, and the cooling water supply system only perform the functionfor storing spent fuel in the spent fuel storage tank, and the cooling system, the purification system, and the cooling water supply system are arranged in the same building in which the spent fuel tank is arranged.
