The application program processing method comprises the followingsteps of: obtaining first using information of a sample application program at each sampling time point in a history time period; obtaining second using information in a target history time period from the first using information; generating a training sample according to the sampling time points, the first using information and the second using information; training a preset algorithm model according to the training sample; and processing a background application program on the basis of the trained algorithm model. According to the method and device, the terminal resource occupation of the electronic equipment can be reduced, the operation fluency of the electronic equipment can be enhanced and the power consumption of the electronic equipment can be decreased.
