Abstract

An image gray value adjusting method and apparatus are disclosed. The method comprises the following steps: a first mapping value of a gray value of each pixel in an image is calculated via a histogram equalization mapping function; via the histogram equalization mapping function, a second mapping value is calculated after a first preset value is subtracted from the gray value of each pixel; if the gray value minus the first preset value exceeds a preset gray value range, a minimum value in the preset gray value range is chosen for calculating the second mapping value; via the histogram equalization mapping function, a third mapping value is obtained after the second preset value is added to the gray value of each pixel; if the gray value plus the second preset value exceeds a preset grayvalue range, a maximum value in the gray value range is chosen for calculating the third mapping value; an output gray value of each pixel is calculated based on the first mapping value, the second mapping value, the third mapping value and weights thereof.
