Adhesive compositions comprising tetrahydrofurfuryl (meth)acrylate copolymers; epoxy resins; polyether polyols; and hydroxyl-functional film-forming polymers are described. The adhesives are useful in structural and semi-structural bonding applications.

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to structural and semistructural bonding adhesives, adhesive articles, and methods for making the adhesives and articles. The invention also relates to articles comprising one or more components bonded together with a structural bonding adhesive. Background technique [0002] Structural bonding tapes can be used to bond one or more substrates to each other. Many structural adhesive tapes fall into one of two groups: (1) structural adhesive tapes that are heat curable, and (2) structural adhesive tapes that are activatable with ultraviolet (UV) light. As the category name suggests, heat-curable structural bonding tapes require heat to cure the adhesive composition of the tape. UVi structural bonding tapes contain an adhesive composition that will begin to cure when exposed to ultraviolet light, but does not require heat for curing.
