Problems solved by technology

Another disadvantage is that for 4:2:0 format video, the existing technology uses a fixed downsampling filter {{1 21}, {1 2 1}} / 8, and different filters should be selected for different types of videos

Abstract

The invention discloses a linear model prediction-based image or video coding method. According to the method, a first image component, a second image component and a third image component are adoptedto represent a to-be-coded image or video. The first and second image components of a coded block adjacent to the current to-be-coded block of the image or video are sampled by using a preset numberof different filters. The coded values of second and third image components are predicted through a linear model, and then a prediction error is calculated. According to an error minimum principle, anoptimal filter is determined and the codes of the second and third image components of the current to-be-coded block are predicted with the first image component as a basis. During the coding process, the method can adapt to different images or video sources by using different types of filters. Based on the error minimum principle, filters are selected adaptively. Therefore, the prediction precision of different image components is improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of image and video compression coding. More specifically, it relates to an image or video coding method based on linear model prediction. Background technique [0002] With the rapid development of information technology, the improvement of network bandwidth, and the enhancement of chip processing capabilities, video applications are becoming more and more extensive. From fixed terminals such as TVs, computers, to mobile phones. Video content is becoming more and more abundant, and the requirements for quality are also constantly improving, from standard definition to high definition, and then to ultra high definition, from standard dynamic range to high dynamic range (HDR, High Dynamic Range), virtual reality (VR, Virtual Reality), 360-degree video is also rapidly entering people's lives. According to statistics, video content occupies most of the network bandwidth, so the requirements for compression technology a...
