The method includes: storing consensus data, which is required for executing consensus, by the database to enable the first server and the second server to invoke the same in a process of executing the consensus; when abnormity of the first server appears before executing the consensus or in the process of executing the consensus, replacing the first server by the second server to acquire the consensus data from the database, execute the consensus according to the consensus data, and generate a consensus result; and storing the consensus result in the database by the second server. By utilizing the embodiment of the application, the normal server in the node can take over the abnormal server to acquire the consensus data from the database and execute the consensus, thus normal performing of the consensus is guaranteed, a success rate of the consensus process can be increased to a certain extent, and then the service processing efficiency of the block chain can be improved.
