Abstract

The thickener is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 8 to 12 parts of polyethylene glycol, 13 to 16 parts of diisocyanate, 2 to 4 parts of an end capping agent, 6 to 10 parts of an anti-settling additive and 30 to 60 parts of water, wherein the anti-settling additive is prepared from mineral soil, a glue type thickener, a cellulose thickener and water at the ratio of (0.1 to 5) to (0.1 to 5) to (0.1 to 5) to 100. The invention further discloses the preparation method of the thickener. The thickener prepared by the preparation method disclosed by the invention has a strong thickening property and has excellent stability and suspension property; the thickener has no sediment after being stored for a long time and is used for preventing a pigment and filler from being deposited; the thickener has very good anti-settling and thickening effects when being used for the building paint; the thickener has very good thickening and anti-settling effects and is used for effectively preventing sedimentation and layering of water-based paint and improving the use performance of the paint; the preparation method of the thickener is simple and easy to operate and has low cost.
