Abstract

The invention discloses a facial expression identification method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps of performing human face region detection and key point locating on a facial image to obtain a shape of the facial image; aligning the shape of the facial image to a pre-obtained average shape of a facial expression type, thereby obtaining a rigid body normalized shape of the facial image; obtaining human face features of the facial image in the rigid body normalized shape; performing expression identification on the human face features of the facial image according to a pre-trained expression classifier to obtain an expression type prediction result; and performing weighted voting on the expression type prediction result to determine an expression type of the facial image. According to the method and the apparatus, the diversity of similar expressions can be reduced and difference of different expressions can be reserved, so that good identification performance is achieved.
