Embodiment 2

[0073] Embodiment 2 of the method for stabilizing the laser polarization state adopts the above-mentioned embodiment of the laser polarization state stabilization control device, and includes the following steps:

[0074] Step Ⅰ. Search for the optimal control voltage

[0075] The flow chart of this step is as follows image 3 shown.

[0076] Ⅰ-1. Preset voltage

[0077] In this example, the order of the four extrusions of the polarization controller is unknown, and the voltage of each extrusion of the polarization controller is preset at -3V, so that the phase difference between the fast and slow axes introduced by each extrusion is in the range of 0.5π±0.2π Inside.

Abstract

The invention relates to a laser polarization state control stabilizing device and control stabilizing method. A polarization controller, a polarizer and a beam splitter of the device are sequentially connected through optical fiber; a large light beam is split from the beam splitter and is used as output light; a small light beam is used as monitoring light to be connected to an electric control assembly; the control voltage of the small light beam is accessed into an optical fiber extruding type polarization controller. According to the method, the electric control assembly presets voltage for each extruding element of the polarization controller; the control voltage of each extruding element is sequentially scanned; the control voltage of each extruding element is set into the corresponding voltage at the greatest linear polarization state output during scanning, i.e., the polarization controller optimum control voltage. During the stabilizing control, the current linear polarization state output is monitored and is compared with the maximum output; when the difference between the current linear polarization state output and the maximum output is greater than a threshold value, the control voltage of each extruding element is regulated, so that the output maintains the maximum. The stabilizing control is repeated. When the control voltage of a certain extruding element reaches the control limit, the control voltage is subjected to step increase and decrease to leave away from the limit. The optimal control voltage of the polarization controller is fast and effectively obtained; the linear polarization output is enabled to be the maximum for a long time.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of lasers, and in particular relates to a laser polarization state control and stabilization device and a control and stabilization method. Background technique [0002] As an important basic characteristic of light waves, the polarization state has important influences and applications in the fields of high-speed optical communication, coherent optical communication, optical quantum communication, optical fiber sensing, and high-power laser devices. If the polarization state of the input light is known, the output of any desired polarization state can be obtained by configuring a series of wave plates. For unknown polarization state input, in order to obtain the desired polarization state output, there are mainly four control methods as follows: [0003] 1) Polarization state control method based on optical power. [0004] The method uses a polarization beam splitter to obtain the polarization component o...
