According to the embodiment, the ARP message processing method comprises the steps of receiving an ARP request message sent by the terminal through a wireless access point, wherein the ARP request message comprises a target IP (Internet Protocol) address; inquiring an MAC (Media Access Control) address corresponding to a target IP address from an ARP table stored by the wireless access point per se; when the MAC address is inquired, sending the MAC address corresponding to the target IP address to the terminal; when the MAC address corresponding to the target IP address is not inquired and the wireless access point is in a centralized forwarding mode, forwarding the ARP request message to a wireless controller; and when the MAC address corresponding to the target IP address is not inquired and the wireless access point is in a local forwarding mode, forwarding the ARP request message to a wired network side device which is connected with the wireless access point.
