The multifunctional OLT optical module comprises an electrical connector, a microprocessor circuit, a high-speed transmitter, a high-speed receiver, a low-speed transmitter, a low-speed receiver, and an integrated optical device, wherein the microprocessor circuit receivers configuration commands from an OLT system through the electrical connector, so as to respectively control operations of the transmitters and the receivers in the optical module. Therefore, the multifunctional OLT optical module provided by the invention not only is applicable for independent operations in a GPON network with a relatively low speed or an XGPON network with a relatively high speed, but also is applicable for simultaneous operations as two PON network OLT transceivers in a network application combining GPON and XGPON; various different PON network applications can be supported by the OLT optical module, so that the local side OLT optical port density and the networking flexibility are improved; and the design in which the PON network applications with various different rates are simultaneously supported in the same optical network facilitates smooth evolution and expansion between the GPON network and the XGPON network, protects existing PON network construction investments, and reduces the operation and maintenance costs of operators.
