Abstract

The present invention provides an electric shaver capable of suppressing the growth of microorganisms by photocatalytic action by visible light and visible light responsive photocatalysts as well as suppressing the generation of offensive odor such as putrid smell. The electric shaver has a main body case (1) also serving as a grip and a razor head (2). The electric shaver comprises the following components: an inner cutter (7), an outer cutter (8) circumscribing the inner cutter (7), an outer cutter holder (31) for holding the outer cutter (8), a hair clippers chamber (R) for housing hair shavings and sebum cut by the inner cutter (7) are provided. A switch (6) for operating a motor (3) for driving the inner cutter (7) is provided in the main body case (1). A visible light responsive photocatalyst (10) is coated on at least one surface of the inner cutter (7), the outer cutter (8) and the outer cutter holder (31).
