The design method comprises the steps of firstly, calculating radial displacement, axial displacement and corner displacement of an inner ring of the bearing; calculating normal contact loads of all contact positions according to the obtained displacements to determine the contact load of a rolling body with the maximum load and the maximum contact stress received by the bearing; drawing a bearing static load curve through adopting the maximum contact stress as the index, and determining a circle radius coefficient t and a design contact angle according to limit load parameters of the bearing; and finally, calculating a major semi-axis and a minor semi-axis of an ellipse according to the obtained design contact angle, the circle radius coefficient and the radius of a steel ball. According to the design method, the major semi-axis and the minor semi-axis of an elliptical race can be quickly and accurately designed through the process, the problem that the selection of the major semi-axis and the minor semi-axis of the bearing elliptical race has no reference is solved, and reference can be provided for judgment of utilization conditions of external loads according to the adopted static load curve design drawing method.
