The invention discloses a traditional Chinese medicine formula for treating bovine ruminal tympany, wherein the formula is prepared from the following components in parts by mass: 10-20 parts of leek acid, 3-5 parts of fresh ginger and 1-3 parts of table salt; a processing method comprises the following steps: cleaning and drying harvested fresh leeks in the sun, then kneading the leeks, and adding the table salt to the leeks according to the parts by mass during kneading so as to knead the leeks into a paste; storing the leek paste in a jar and sealing for 3-4 months so as to obtain the leek acid; and smashing the fresh ginger, and adding the smashed fresh ginger to the leek acid according to the parts by weight. Dosage: by drenching cattle with 0.8-1.2kg of the formula, flatulence can be immediately eliminated, and the syndrome of ruminal tympany can be treated after half an hour. The traditional Chinese medicine formula disclosed by the invention is prepared on the basis of a secret prescription handed down from ancestors; the application of one time is a treatment course, and cure rate of one treatment course is more than 95%.
