The storage container for the spherical nuclear fuel element is characterized in that the container shell is formed by connecting a container drum body and a container base plate; an internal end opening in the upper end of the container drum body is provided with a top plate; the container cover is connected with the top plate through a stud; the neutron absorbing layer comprises a cavity structure arranged outside the container drum body and neutron absorbing materials filling in the cavity; the bundling element drum group is arranged inside the container drum body and comprises a plurality of cylinders which are arranged regularly and are used for loading the spherical nuclear fuel element.
