The novel method comprises the following steps: mainly separating butyraldehyde from butanol and dehydrating by using a first rectifying tower (namely a butyraldehyde tower). A product distilled at the top of a second rectifying tower is butanol, and the purity (mass percentage, similarly hereinafter) of the butanol is enabled to be higher than 98%; total C5-C7 components such as butyl butyrate are distilled at the top of a third rectifying tower; a product distilled at the top of a fourth rectifying tower is octanol and octenal, and the purity of the octanol is enabled to be higher than 98%.
