Problems solved by technology

Compared with chiral additives, chiral liquid crystals have improved the phase transition temperature of liquid crystals, but due to the structural differences between chiral liquid crystals and conventional liquid crystals, the compatibility still needs to be improved
The literature "Wide-band reflective polarizers from cholesterol polymer networks with a pitch gradient" (Nature, 1995, 378, 467-469) shows a group of polymerizable chiral liquid crystals and polymerizable common liquid crystal compositions, but the conventional Photoinitiator, the remaining photoinitiator will migrate after film formation, affecting the appearance of film formation, and it will easily cause yellowing after long-term use
[0013] Patents EP1160304A2, JP2004144880A, DE10230388A1, and JP2011213614A disclose a class of chiral liquid crystal and achiral liquid crystal compositions, but use small molecule photoinitiators that are prone to yellowing
[0014] Patent CN102124079A discloses a composition of chiral liquid crystal and achiral liquid crystal, which is applied to heat insulation film, but uses a small molecule photoinitiator that is easy to cause yellowing, and the liquid crystal monomer is only one polymerizable group
[0015] Patent CN102668128A discloses a class of chiral and achiral liquid crystal compositions, which are applied to solar concentrators as special optical films, but does not mention the initiators and stabilizers used
[0016] Patents CN102778718A and CN104046368A disclose a class of chiral and achiral liquid crystal compositions, broadband reflective liquid crystal polarizing films, but use small molecule photoinitiators that are prone to yellowing

Abstract

The invention provides a polymerizable liquid crystal composition. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition comprises one compound, which comprises at least two polymerizable groups in a general formula I, used as a first component; one chiral compound, which comprises at least two polymerizable groups in a general formula II, used as a second component; a compound, which at least comprises one polymerizable group in a general formula III, used as a stabilizing agent; and a compound, which at least comprises one polymerizable group in a general formula IV, used as a light initiating agent. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition is high in compatibility, high in anti-yellowing property, and can be applied to the fields of flat panel display, flexible display and other optical films. The invention also provides an application of the polymerizable liquid crystal composition to the optical films.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a polymeric chiral liquid crystal composition and its application in optical films. Background technique [0002] Chiral liquid crystals are currently one of the research hotspots in the field of liquid crystals, and they are attracting more and more attention because of their unique optical and electrical properties. The molecular structure of chiral liquid crystals forms a helical twisted structure because it contains one or more asymmetric carbon atoms. Due to the special helical twisted structure, chiral liquid crystals have distinctive optical properties. The liquid crystal type is generally cholesteric or chiral smectic phase. Cholesteric liquid crystals have a helical nematic structure with certain symmetry and special optical properties; ferroelectric liquid crystal molecules are disorderly stacked and also have a helical structure, which is a chiral smectic C-phase liquid crystal, commonly used symbol Sc *express. ...
