The method comprises the steps of monitoring application programs which start running in the mobile terminal, acquiring and recording the time points at which the application programs start running; monitoring application programs which stop running in the mobile terminal, acquiring and recording the time points at which the application programs stop running; and determining the running time of each application program according to the starting time points and stopping time points of the application program in the mobile terminal. The method can be used for monitoring the running time of all the application programs in the mobile terminal, thereby better managing the application programs in the mobile terminal and allocating resources, improving safety of the mobile terminal, and optimizing resource allocation of the mobile terminal.
