The system comprises a power supply unit, a pressure pneumatic switch and a time delay control unit which are arranged on the carrying spacecraft, wherein the power supply unit is connected to a power consumption load arranged on the carrying spacecraft and used for supplying power to the power consumption load; the pressure pneumatic switch is used for detecting external pressure of the carrying spacecraft, and the time delay control unit is started when the external pressure is reduced to a preset threshold value. According to the charging system and the method of the carrying spacecraft, the external pressure variation of the carrying spacecraft is detected, power supply of the power consumption load of the carrying spacecraft is controlled by the aid of time delay control and with an automatic charging method, the reliability of power supply of the carrying spacecraft is improved, the method can be complementary with an existing passive charging method, automatic charging is started for the spacecraft when passive charging fails, and the spacecraft can be ensured to continue to complete a follow-up task.
