Example: Washing Shaanxi Red Fuji apples purchased from a supermarket with salt water at a temperature of 40-50 degrees Celsius to ensure that the original wax on the surface is cleaned. At room temperature, the same amount of Shaanxi Red Fuji apples were artificially painted with industrial wax and edible wax respectively. After standing still for 48 hours, hyperspectral images were taken separately. Sequential projection algorithm (SPA) was used to extract the characteristic wavelengths for identifying waxing types on the apple surface, and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was used to establish typical discriminant functions. In subsequent measurements, it is only necessary to obtain the reflectance at the characteristic wavelength of the test sample, combined with the typical discriminant function, the non-destructive testing of apples with unknown waxing types can be realized.
